Just as the name suggests, the balanced type AM3 is mainly used to drive balanced headphones / earbuds. It has the 2.5mm TRRS balanced output (with the same 4-pole pinout as other DAPs with balanced output on the market) for balanced headphones / earbuds, as well as the 3.5mm single-ended output for more common use. Below is the pinout diagram for 4-pole balanced headphones, which is the same as the headphones / earphones with 2.5mm balanced plug on the market. The best part of the balanced output is its extremely high R/L channel separation owing to the fact of no communal ground wire. Meanwhile, the balanced output mode can take full advantage of the supply voltage, which results in outstanding output power, even greater than the high-power type module AM5 at 32Ωand 300Ω. In terms of the 3.5mm single-ended headphone output, its audio performance is quite close to AM2 while better than AM1.
Simple To Install
A small screw driver is included in the package for working with the two T5 screws holding the amplifier module in place. With the two screws removed, the amplifier module can be unplugged with a firm pull. Installation is the reverse of removal.
