A New Daily Habit for Your Earbuds
When placing earbuds into the charging case, built-in deep ultraviolet (UV-C) LED *1 irradiate *2 the earbud surfaces to sterilize them. The case’s UV-C LED design, combined with mirror-finished surfaces *3, distributes the light evenly to enhance effectiveness. Approximately 70 seconds of irradiation can remove bacteria and viruses *4 from the ear tips, keeping your earbuds hygienic every day.
*1 Short-wavelength ultraviolet (UV-C) light effectively sterilizes and inactivates bacteria and viruses.
*2 After the UV-C LED irradiation completes, storing earbuds in the charging case within approximately 1 hour will not trigger additional irradiation.
*3 Irradiation occurs only when the charging case lid is closed, ensuring safety. The irradiation does not cause ear tip degradation or discoloration.
*4 The system achieves over 99% sterilization of E. coli and bacteriophages, and over 90% of Staphylococcus aureus.
However, it is not effective against all bacteria or viruses, and its effect on SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) has not been verified.
